An inventory control specialist manages, tracks, and optimizes a company's stock to ensure that the right amount of materials or products is available at the right time without running out or overstocking. Key Responsibilities • Tracking Stock: Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments, noting every item entering and leaving the facility. • Reconciliation and Audits: Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies between actual items and digital records. • Record Keeping: Update inventory management software, databases, and spreadsheets with real-time stock levels. • Loss Prevention: Identify damaged, expired, or obsolete stock and investigate missing inventory or shrinkage. • Coordination: Communicate with procurement, manufacturing, and warehouse teams to maintain proper replenishment schedules and reorder points. Required Skills • Proficiency in Inventory Management Software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. • Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset. • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
