A Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating industrial equipment to move, locate, unload, stack, and count merchandise. They play a vital role in warehouse operations by ensuring inventory is managed efficiently, staging products for shipping, and maintaining a hazard-free work environment. Key Responsibilities • Material Handling: Operate sit-down, stand-up, or reach forklifts to move goods between receiving, storage, and shipping areas. Load and unload freight from tractor-trailers and containers. • Inventory Control: Verify and label items, track goods using RF scanners or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and assist with physical inventory counts. • Order Preparation: Pick, pack, and shrink-wrap materials accurately according to shipping schedules and bills of lading. • Safety & Maintenance: Conduct required OSHA pre-shift inspections. Monitor fluid levels, charge batteries, and immediately report or remove damaged equipment from service. Qualifications & Skills • Licensing: Valid forklift certification/license and a clean driving record. • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortably stand or sit for extended periods. • Technical Skills: Familiarity with RF scanners, basic math skills, and a strong understanding of load capacities and forklift balance. • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, spatial awareness, and effective communication skills
